P.K. Subban Unboxes NHL Cards with Kyle Kravitz | Stadium Series 2026 (2026)

Get ready for a blast from the past with a modern twist! Hockey legend P.K. Subban, an ESPN analyst and former defenseman, is here to showcase how far the world of hockey cards has come since his childhood.

But here's where it gets controversial... Subban, a seasoned card collector himself, is blown away by the industry's evolution. He reveals, "It's not just an image on a card anymore; it's a piece of history."

And this is the part most people miss... Subban, along with hobbyist Kyle Kravitz, known as kingofthecards, teamed up with Upper Deck to showcase their newest products at Raymond James Stadium. These aren't your average cards; they're works of art with a twist!

Subban and Kravitz opened boxes of Allure Hockey and Black Diamond, two of Upper Deck's annual chrome releases. The Allure collection includes impressive chase cards like Blue Line and Purple Diamond autograph parallels, and the Golden Treasures set, all numbered and limited.

But the real gems are in the Black Diamond collection, featuring rookies like Matthew Schaefer and Ivan Demidov, alongside legends like Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, and Henrik Lundqvist. These cards are a collector's dream, with Hockey History Patches and Captain Patches adding to the excitement.

Kravitz, a lifelong hockey fan and Islander supporter, is thrilled to be chasing an Islander rookie with potential star power. He says, "The game has always been close to my heart, and now I get to be a part of it through these cards."

Subban adds, "For players, it's a dream to be on a card. But these cards now, with jerseys and autographs, take it to a whole new level."

During the card opening, Subban and Kravitz got lucky, pulling cards of Morgan Geekie and Victor Hedman, who were playing in the game that night. They even got the players to sign the cards, later giving them away to two lucky fans.

Subban concludes, "Hockey cards are part of the tradition and culture of sports. Seeing people invest in and elevate the product is a win for the fans and the players alike."

So, what do you think? Are hockey cards just a fun hobby, or do they represent something more? Let us know in the comments!
